This week on Music Was Better, Vintown and Sammerz smoke some marijuana cigarettes as they get you ready for 4/20 with songs from The Doobie Brothers and Bob Dylan.
The episode starts off with a group of guys who loved smoking weed so much they named their whole band after the stuff: The Doobie Brothers. We take a look into their first major hit, “Listen to the Music”. The song has a very stoned history as Tom Johnston was clearly smoking that good stuff when he thought this song would end all wars and bring world peace. If “We Are The World” couldn’t do it, then it can’t be done.
We then delve into the YouTube comment section where one guy doesn’t even know what band this is and another has some real “luzzer” parents.
Our second song is Bob Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” also known as “the everybody must get stoned” song. We learn how, despite the beliefs of stoners worldwide, Dylan swears this is not a drug song. In fact, he’s never even written a drug song! Okay, Bob, whatever you say. We definitely believe you.
In the comments, someone really wants to know what Muppet Bob Dylan sounds like and another person learns the hard way why you don’t allow a heroin addict and ex-convict into your home. It’s like a PSA in comment form.
A very fun episode from two real potheads all wacked out on bong water.
